Threadlockers

REASONS FOR FAILURE OF THREADED ASSEMBLIES:

• MAIN CAUSE: normally there is up to 15% metal-to-metal contact between the engaged threads of the nut and bolt, the remaining 85% is air leading to a gap. When the joints are subjected to vibration, this gap allows movement that leads to self-loosening or loss of joint load.
• VISIBLE CAUSE: threaded assemblies fail due to loss of screw tension.
• SELF-LOOSENING: exposure to vibration or thermal cycling may cause the assembly to loosen.
